Princess Way began her racing career over five-furlongs as a two-year-old, but really only came into her own when stepped up in trip later that season. She gained her first victory in a seven-furlong Salisbury nursery in September 2016.
She would go on to win again over the same distance on the Fibresand at Southwell as a three-year-old, before finding lots of improvement from three to four.
That step forward resulted in a memorable hat-trick in the summer/autumn of 2018, with Princess Way showing her trademark guts and determination to plunder consecutive handicaps at Ffos Las, Lingfield and Bath. She improved her rating by a total of 10lbs thanks to that series of victories but has since demonstrated that the extra burden is no issue whatsoever.
Princess Way returned better than ever in 2019, winning twice more at Bath, including for the first time over a mile and a quarter. In doing so she propelled herself to a career-high rating of 69 and took her career earnings past £31,000.
Princess Way has been given a well-deserved break over the winter but is now fit again and ready to run soon. She was better than ever last season and there is every reason to think she can improve again during the 2020 season, particularly now that she has proven she stays a mile and a quarter.
She is as tough, genuine and consistent as they come - how can you afford to turn down a free lease in such a likeable mare!
