A two-year-old filly by Outstrip out of the Giant's Causeway mare Another Name is offered for sale. She is a very good mover who is blessed with a lovely temperament. Share options are also available.
This young filly has an exciting profile and hails from a high-quality and enduring family.
The dam Another Name was very lightly raced prior to commencing breeding duties. She has since produced the 10-time winner Nom de Plume and the flat and hurdles scorer Flat To The Max, from just a handful of runners. That brief yet promising summary tells only a fraction of the story, however.
Another Name is out of the useful 88-rated Because, who was trained by Aidan O'Brien, and by the mighty Giant's Causeway. The 'Iron Horse' is broodmare sire of countless top-level winners such as Gun Runner, Hawkbill,Beauty Parlour, Soft Falling Rain and Planteur.
Because was herself by Sadler's Wells and out of the exceptional producer Jude. That mare's seven winning offspring included the Grp-1 Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Yesterday, the Grp-1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner and multiple Classic-placed Quarter Moon and the Oaks and Irish Oaks third All My Loving - all of whom were full-sisters to Because.
Jude was in turn a sibling of the top-class multiple Group-winning mare Last Second, the Grp-3 (then) Doncaster Cup heroine Alleluia, the Irish Oaks third Arrikala and the Grp-1 placed two-year-old Alouette.
Collectively these mares and their siblings/descendants have gone on to create one of the most decorated families in the stud book. The seemingly endless list of pattern winners found within the first four generations of this pedigree includes the Grp-1 winners Alborada, Albanova, Coronet, Aussie Rules and Diamondsandrubies. Other stellar names to feature on the page include the Derby runner-up Dragon Dancer, the Irish Derby runner-up Midas Touch, the St Leger third Michaelangelo, the Park Hill victrix Alyssa, the Craven scorer Eminent and the Hardwicke winner Thomas Chippendale.
Such blue-chip breeding resulted in Another Name making her sales ring debut at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale back in 2007, where she realised a cool $525,000. Her year younger Kingmambo sibling Anhar was knocked down to John Ferguson for $950,000 later the same year prior to winning for Godolphin and earning an official rating 100.
Clearly this pedigree is of exceptional merit and the pairing of Another Name with the exciting Outstrip promises plenty. The first-crop of the former Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and Champagne Stakes winner were on the track last season and he has already demonstrated his ability to upgrade his mares. The Listed National Stakes winner Flippa The Strippa is his standout performer thus far, but a plethora of other individual winners have confirmed that he is no one hit wonder.
